Production value of industry and small-scale industry in 2001 - 2003 was 20.7%. VND 6,020 billion was attained in 2003, up 17.65% compared with 2002, which obtained 35.94% GDP of the province (ranked 14/64 in the country).

Several products as oriented by the National Assembly IX have achieved high growth speed, initially well-consumed on internal and external markets of the province - they are beer, soft drinks at 21.5%/year; assembling motorcycles, pulling machines at 16.5%/year; breeds at 19.9%/year; other many other products such as gas cylinder, consumer’s hardware, knitwear, silk, towel, ready-made clothes, sports footwear, stone, cement, merchandized concrete, brick, fine arts and handicrafts at trade villages, etc… that are in great trend of development.

As for export, total value in 2003 was USD 65 million, up 4.8% compared with the annual plan and 14.1% compared with 2002.

All economic sectors of industry and small-scale industry and trade villages have been intended to strongly develop in quantity, scale, technology and business production efficiency. Total fixed capital of the whole industry has been over VND 6,000 billion up to now; obligation to the State in 2003 was VND 354 billion that occupied 52% total budget of the province, over 200 thousand labor force - many of which are high-grade workers, artists of traditional trade villages.

Industrial promotion programs have been developed more and more, which enables restoration, development of trade villages, promotion of industry and small-scale industry in rural areas and increased labor force for enterprises. As to programs of occupational impartation and multiplying during the past 3 years (2001 - 2003), 600 classes were supported for nearly 32,000 learners in 260 communes and small towns.

As to planning and development of industrial zones, groups and points in the province, there have been 1 high-tech industrial zone, 1 industrial zone, 18 industrial groups and 38 industrial points of expanding trade villages that have been being realized in total area of 2,400 ha. There have been 250 enterprises registering for investment and 188 among which have been approved for renting land, over 50 units are building and some have been put into operation, which helps settle 6,500 labors and contribute to the budget VND 10 billion in 2003.
