Ha Tay is very close to Hanoi, with total area of 2,193m2, including 3 geological areas: plain, mountainous area and midland characterized differently with many minerals, diversified landscapes, which multiform cultivated plants, animals and for the development of industry and small-scale industry.

Ha Tay offers a network of roads, railways, waterways and electricity and communication system evenly distributed, especially passed by two transnational roads, Cau Gie side-track, Lang - Hoa Lac Highway connecting Hanoi with Hoa Lac Hightech Industrial Zone, Phu Cat Industrial Zone, Hoai Duc Industrial Group - Quoc Oai, Vietnamese Cultural Village of Ethnic Groups and National University, which creates favorable conditions for local and international exchange of goods.

Regarding production units in field of industry and small-scale industry in Ha Tay, there are 36 state-run enterprises (among which 14 central enterprises and 22 local ones), 63 cooperatives, over 100 production installations, 90 private enterprises, 300 limited companies, joint stock companies, 50 foreign-invested industrial establishments (30 ones have been put into operation), 1,116 trade villages in which 160 have been acknowledged by the Provincial People’s Committee and 75,000 households of producing in industry and small-scale industry.

With those potentials, Ha Tay has many favorable conditions for development of industry and small-scale industry, especially branches of processing agricultural products, building materials, consumers’ goods, fine arts and handicrafts for export.
